The words you use in a review request text message matter, but not as much as the timing and the link. That said, a well-written message gets more clicks than a generic one. Here are 10 templates you can copy, adjust, and send today.

Each template includes an opt-out line as required by TCPA. Replace the bracketed placeholders with your actual business name, customer name, or staff name.

General-purpose templates

Template 1, Short and direct

Hi [Name], thanks for visiting [Business Name] today! A quick Google review would mean a lot to us: [link]. Reply STOP to opt out.

Template 2, Slightly personal

[Business Name]: We hope your experience today was great. If you have 60 seconds, we'd really appreciate a Google review: [link]. Reply STOP to stop.

Template 3, From a staff member

Only use a follow-up if the first message wasn't delivered or opened. Never send more than two review request messages per visit.

What makes a good review request text

• Short, under 160 characters if possible, so it arrives as one message
• Personal, use the customer's name if you have it
• Immediate, send within 1–2 hours of the visit
• Direct link, no instructions, just a link that opens the review form
• Opt-out, always include "Reply STOP to opt out"
• Business identified, the recipient must know who sent it

What to avoid

• Don't offer rewards for leaving a review, it violates Google's policies
• Don't send after 9 PM or before 8 AM local time
• Don't text the same customer multiple times across multiple days
• Don't send from an unrecognized or spoofed number
